BIFM International Investors in FM Excellence Awards 2008
The glittering awards ceremony took place on Monday 13th October 2008, attended by some of the most senior professionals in the FM industry. Hays Facilities Management was pleased to sponsor the Hays and BIFM Judges Special Recognition Award, which was set up to recognise FMs who capture their imagination during the judging process, but don’t necessarily fall into a particular category.
This year the following FMs were shortlisted:
- Tim White Customer Services Manager and Mike Bednall Estate Team Manager of Carillion's site based at Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester.
- David Robinson of Hertfordshire County Council and the Jane Langton of Macro for their involvement and drive in the Hertfordshire County Council initiative "a beacon of public sector change management".
- Tricia Stanley FM Services Manager at Sodexo and Garry Haswell, Client Representative at Reckitt Benckiser.
Tricia Stanley and Garry Haswell were the winners of this special category for their flood recovery work in Hull in June 2007. The floods devastated much of the local area, many people were left homeless and the city was temporarily paralysed. Many workplaces suffered from severe flooding and simply closed down during the most severe flooding. One particular company was affected dramatically and could have done the same. But by working 24/7, they provided welfare, soup kitchens and warm clothing for staff and managed to get fully operational by the end of the week.
