technical administration jobs
Technical administration jobs are support roles, which requires the administrator to have strong organisational, communication and IT skills with a certain level of technical understanding, for example, CAD knowledge in a design office.
Are you a strong admin all-rounder?
These roles require self-motivated and organised individuals who have the ability and enthusiasm to plan ahead, troubleshoot and present information clearly. They need to take instruction easily and work as part of a team, interacting with a range of different personalilties. A genuine interest in the medium they are working with is also hugely desireable.
You don't necessarily need previous experience, but you have to be IT literate for most technical admin jobs, preferably with a predisposition for picking up new software, as there will often be different CAD programmes or spreadsheet software for each role.
Development opportunities are excellent and those candidates who have shown exceptional aptitude are often recommended for in-house training to progress into the technical role they were originally supporting. A GCSE Grade C in English and Maths, or equivalent, with a proven IT competancy, is the standard requirement. Poficiency in Word and Excel are expected, with CAD software often being essential.
